What we see on PrestaShop sites

What PrestaShop does well
  • PrestaShop dominates European ecommerce, and the corpus reflects that -- strong multi-currency and multi-language implementation that Shopify merchants often have to pay apps to replicate.
  • Trust signal density is high on PrestaShop sites: security badges, return policies, certifications, and payment logos appear more consistently than on comparable platforms.
  • Catalog depth is impressive. PrestaShop merchants tend to run serious product operations, not hobby stores.
Common issues
  • Default PrestaShop URL structures with numeric IDs creating duplicate content without canonical handling. The fix requires module configuration most default installs skip.
  • Module bloat that mirrors WordPress's plugin problem -- many modules, inconsistent quality, performance impact felt on every page.
  • Mobile performance lagging desktop by a larger margin than most comparable platforms.
Things we've noticed
  • PrestaShop has one of the most geographically diverse user bases in our corpus -- more non-US traffic patterns than any other platform we benchmark. The geographic distribution is distinctly international.
  • PrestaShop sites show the highest trust signal density of any ecommerce platform in our corpus -- security badges, certification logos, and return policy links appear more consistently than on comparable platforms.
