What we see on Odoo sites

What Odoo does well
  • Odoo's website module is part of a larger ERP, and the sites reflect it -- strong customer portal integration, clear service catalogs, and operational credibility signals that free-standing website builders can't match.
  • The business behind an Odoo site is typically more sophisticated than the website itself. The web presence is the tip of an operational iceberg.
  • Odoo is the most common platform we see paired with a separate marketing site -- businesses run Odoo for backend operations while using Webflow or similar for the public face.
Common issues
  • Default Odoo website themes that haven't been significantly customized. The platform template shows through.
  • Performance on pages that pull live data from the Odoo backend. Dynamic data plus unoptimized rendering is slow.
  • Metadata and schema at generic defaults without editorial review.
Things we've noticed
  • Odoo sites in our corpus are the most likely of any platform to have a customer portal or account login area. The ERP backend creates a service relationship that the website reflects.
  • Odoo is the most common platform we see paired with a separate marketing site in our corpus. Businesses run Odoo for backend operations while using Webflow or similar for the public-facing marketing layer.
